Thomas M. Dowling Named a 2026 InvestmentNews 5-Star Financial Planner

The InvestmentNews 5-Star Financial Planners 2026 report highlights professionals who provide clients with confidence and clarity by listening, understanding their goals, and helping navigate an increasingly complex financial environment shaped by market volatility, inflation, and growing retirement demands.

Dowling brings more than 30 years of wealth management experience and serves clients from both Hilton Head, South Carolina, and New York City with a thoughtful, relationship-driven approach to financial planning. His career includes leading the East Coast expansion of a publicly traded investment banking firm, serving in senior advisory positions recognized through Chairman’s Council and President’s Circle honors, and founding a boutique advisory firm focused on ultra-high-net-worth clients.

A holder of both the CFA® designation and CFP® certification, Dowling combines deep technical expertise with a holistic planning philosophy. He further strengthened his credentials through completion of the CIMA® program at The Wharton School.

To compile the 2026 list, InvestmentNews conducted a nationwide, nomination-based survey between November 3 and November 28, 2025. A total of 231 nominations were received, with 80 financial planners ultimately selected following an objective qualitative review focused on credentials, expertise, achievements, integrity, and client-focused service. The recognition does not consider investment performance, client testimonials, or assets under management, and there is no fee to be nominated or selected.

Beyond his advisory work, Dowling remains actively involved in the community through local board service, youth sports coaching, and as founder of The Resource Group, a networking forum designed to help business owners connect and grow.
